20 Weeks

I'm 20 1/2 weeks pregnant. It's hard to believe I'm at the halfway point! I am excited and, I will admit, a little unsure about what the next weeks have in store for us. I am not scared or nervous, just curious.

I've been feeling the baby move every day. Sometimes it's even been strong enough to see. Kris has also seen my belly move which is encouraging. I like stretching out and feeling that baby do his/her gymnastics routine in there. I definitely feel an increase in movement after eating. As I type, Baby Hollis is working out.

I really have no news to share. We've not done anymore shopping for the baby. I've just decided to wait until we know (hopefully) what the gender is. There's so much to choose from, and I figure I might as well make it fun by imagining what my boy or girl (as opposed to 'my baby') would look like in something. I did receive an e-mail the other day regarding car seat safety, so I have a guideline on that now.

On the sleeping front... I've not been sleeping too well lately. I'm not really uncomfortable.. I'm not sure what it is. I have been trying to get used to a new pillow Kris bought me for Christmas. It's called a Snoogle and it curves around you in a variety of ways. I'm trying to get used to sleeping on my left side (as suggested), but I'm typically a tosser I think. I like rolling over, but this pillow does not allow that to be done very easily. Perhaps I will have to pack it away until I get a little bigger for the sake of sleep.

However, yesterday I think I caught up. I was so tired - please don't think me lazy - I practically went to bed when I got home from work. I soaked in the tub for a few minutes and then laid down, watched the news, ate a little supper, and laid back down. I turned the TV off around 7:00 and actually fell asleep. I mostly slept from then until shortly after 6:00 this morning. Kris, bless his heart, had very little interaction with me!

Tonight will be different. We are going to a gathering one of his co-workers coordinated. It will be a nice change of pace.
