Pictures

We had some portraits made this week. I thought I'd include a few here that are my favorites. These were taken either Thursday (5/24) or yesterday (5/26), so basically right at 40 weeks. Also, here are a couple of pictures of our nursery:

40 Weeks!

I had my 40-week checkup this morning. Unfortunately, there's not much to report. I've still not dilated any... meaning I'm still "on hold". I'm scheduled for another checkup next Friday. They will do a nonstress test at that time - which is just monitoring the baby and contractions.

We are now going to play the waiting game!

39 Weeks

I had my 39-week checkup Friday. Everything still looks good, but I have not dilated any yet. My doctor seemed a little surprised but still says it's not unusual for the first baby. My blood pressure is "perfect" and I managed to put on a few more pounds. My total weight gain thus far is 27 pounds. The doctor estimates the baby is 7 to 7 1/2 pounds now. I really think that's a great size to deliver, but God knows best! We have prayed that the baby will come after Kris gets finished with all his work for the school year - next Friday. So, I am really ok with not being dilated any.

We shopped yesterday (hopefully for the final time) for the last bit of furniture. I now have a changing table/dresser combo with a hutch. This piece matches the crib. I hope to have a picture of the nursery up soon. I have the finishing touches to put on the room... organizing drawers and shelf space and then I'll post a picture.

I ordered a glider rocker yesterday - should be here this week. I figured since we were spending money, why not go ahead and do it right!

This morning, we are enjoying the sunshine. I'm sitting outside typing this and watching Kris wash the cars in the garage. It's a beautiful day, and I am thankful for the sun... I think my legs will be too. I'm in desperate need of a tan!

38 Weeks!

It is so hard to believe that I am 38 weeks pregnant! I had my checkup today and all looks good. My weight and blood pressure are good - I actually weighed 2 pounds less than last week! My belly measurement is still good. The baby's heart rate is 148-152... strong and steady. I have not dilated any, but I am about 50% effaced. Samuel's head is still down! :)

I still feel really good. I am having some contractions, but nothing painful... mostly pressure and tightness that sometimes takes my breath. There is added pressure that makes walking less enjoyable. My feet and ankles are swollen almost all the time now (even in the mornings), but since my blood pressure is normal the swelling is not a concern. Those are really the only uncomfortable things I am experiencing... well, that and something of a much more personal nature I'll not bore anyone else with!

I'm getting into baby mode at home... pulling out things to wash and set up. I have a little final shopping to do this weekend; but then I hope to have all I want or need before Samuel comes.

3 Weeks To Go!

I went to the doctor today for my 37 week checkup. It was a good appointment, except that I'm still gaining weight and have now reached 25 pounds total gained. It's not a disappointment to my doctor - just to me. My belly measurement is on-track, the baby's heart rate is good, and my blood pressure was still good. I have not dilated any yet and the baby is still in the head-down position. All in all, it was a good appointment. I go back next week!

The shower at Kris' work Monday was fun. We received lots of gifts and well-wishes. I hope to get my pictures uploaded soon.

It's hard to believe that our baby will be here soon. I've got to get cracking on setting up at home. I feel like I have so much to do - and so little time. :)
